Who Are Flavour + Heart?

Flavour + Heart is a Bendigo based business that hand makes sweet treats. We specialise in making macarons and have a strong focus on providing the freshest product, made with locally sourced products where ever possible. Flavour + Heart’s ethos is providing small sweet treats that have been made with love and have maximum flavour.

Our mission statement is ‘Flavour + Heart, Maker of Yums’. We want to make people happy through our product, to have that one mouthful be memoriable and create a need or want for more. Our customers know that their sweet treat wasn’t mass produced or made by machines, it was made out of love, by local hands here in Bendigo.

Why the name ‘Flavour + Heart’

Flavour + Heart was named after what I consider to be the 2 most important components of baking – Flavour and Love. I’ve always felt you can tell when something has been made from the heart, which is why Flavour + Heart will always make our product with love and continue to providing flavours that makes people want more.

How did Flavour + Heart start

Macarons had a real moment back in 2014/15. Thanks Masterchef ;)

I saw a gap in the market here in regional VIC and decided Macarons would be Flavour + Heart’s core product. I then went on to slowly perfect the very tricky sweet treat and created Flavour + Heart.

Flavour + Heart was launched Sept 2015 at Moonlight Market Bendigo, where we sold over 900 macarons in a matter of hours. This success continued at the following markets and 3 months after starting, I resigned from my full time job and committed myself to Flavour + Heart. A decision that was very scary but one that I have never regretted.

All these years later, Flavour + Heart continues to grow, evolve and provide people with all the yums.

 

Hello! I’m Hayley

I’m the baker, maker, brain and everything else behind Flavour + Heart.

I'm a passionate self-taught baker and for me cooking is stress relief - it's relaxing, it's fulfilling and it makes me incredibly happy. I’m constantly hungry, I’m absolutely useless at following recipes and I can’t watch cooking shows without screaming at the TV.

I was put on this earth to cook and feed people.

The first time I ate a macaron I was instantly  transfixed so I decided to try making them - and it was an absolute disaster. My frustration was quickly replaced with a determination to make them perfectly and that’s how Flavour + Heart was born.  

My goal with Flavour + Heart has and always will be to feed people a little something special that will make them smile. And make them want to buy 20 more….
